Traveling with children in Bali is an adventure, but sometimes it can be hard to find activities that are engaging for both parents and kids. After you have seen the monkeys and played in the pool, what's next?
At Ubud Bali Silver Class, we offer a unique solution: A creative workshop where your kids can become little artisans for a day! It is hands-on, educational, and completely safe.
Is it Safe for Children?
This is the first question every parent asks. The short answer is: Yes, absolutely.
While silver making involves fire and tools, our instructors are highly experienced in working with children. For younger kids (ages 7-12), our staff will handle the "dangerous" parts like melting and soldering, while the kids can focus on the fun parts:
- Designing: Drawing their idea on paper.
- Hammering: Adding texture (kids love hitting things with hammers!).
- Stamping: Writing their name or initials on the silver.
- Polishing: Watching it turn shiny.
Age Recommendation
We recommend this activity for children aged 7 years and above. Younger children are welcome to watch their parents creating!
Why It's Better Than an iPad
In a digital world, working with your hands is a rare gift. This workshop teaches children patience, focus, and the value of creating something from scratch.
They will learn a bit of science (how metal melts), a bit of math (measuring sizes), and a lot of art. Plus, the look of pride on their faces when they wear a necklace they made themselves is priceless.
What Can Kids Make?
Complex rings might be tricky for small hands, but there are plenty of kid-friendly designs:
- Name Pendants: A silver plate stamped with their name.
- Simple Charms: Shapes like hearts, stars, or moons.
- Textured Bands: Simple rings with cool hammer marks.
